This newly renovated coastal bungalow will make your family feel right at home during your beach vacation and stay with:
**NEW for 2025! We've added an enclosed outdoor shower and foot rinse.
*A child safety focus with safety locks, bunkbeds, a pack-n-play, an infant/toddler booster seat, toys, and child friendly utensils.
*The kitchen is well supplied with everything you need to cook with your family, including plenty of baking supplies.
*A coffee station with electric kettle, drip maker, Keurig (with a starter supply of pods including regular, decaf, tea, and hot chocolate!). If you prefer fresh beans, a grinder and French Press are also provided.
*Everyday use items are provided such as soap (kitchen, dishwasher, hand, and bathroom), shampoo, laundry supplies, and spices.
*14 inch memory foam queen beds for a wonderful sleep after a day romping at the beach. The bedrooms are put together with your comfort in mind with plenty of outlets to charge your phones, bedside fans, and ceiling fans.
*Along with luxury sheets and bath towels, beach towels are also provided.

From Memorial day to Labor day, the beach is guarded, has a farmers market on the weekends, events at the band shell, rental water equipment, and food trucks. There is a large neighborhood playground, a 3/4 mile long boardwalk with a bike path, and plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy the views year round.
*Multiple unique and wonderful restaurants within minutes that serve local seafood and farm to table dishes, along with a brewery, a distillery, and a cidery. Many of these have on site bands and entertainment several days a week.
We are centrally located in the Hampton Roads area of coastal Virginia, with so many wonderful places within minutes to under an hour, including:
*History everywhere, with Historic Fort Monroe, Downtown Hampton, Jamestown, and Colonial Williamsburg within minutes to under an hour.
*The Hampton Coliseum and Commercial district is just 6 miles away with a multitude of restaurants, a movie theater, and retail fun. Also several night spots, including PBR for country music and line dancing.

Summary: My family of 4 (9 yo & 11 yo) enjoyed every moment of our vacation! All were amazing and we would definitely return. The house is amazing, I actually left a whole bag of stuff in my car because everything we needed was already here! We went to the air & space museum, beach, and Stuft. Great time in a great space.

Summary: I really appreciated all of the extra touches- we had everything we needed and more! My boys especially loved the snack basket. Everything was nicely labeled and organized. The house was very clean and well decorated. The beach is just 2 blocks away and easy to walk to.

Summary: The owners thought of everything! The house is very clean, updated throughout and decorated nicely with the beach theme. All of the drawers and cabinets are labeled with contents. There are a ton of games and books that renters can enjoy should the weather not be beachy. And if it is beachy weather, it's a quick 2 block walk to the adorable Buckroe Beach that was not in the least bit crowded for our stay in October (and we had beautiful sunny 75 degree weather). The owner was very quick to respond to any communication throughout the rental process and stay. I spend a lot of time reading reviews prior to selecting a rental and was very pleased to see that this adorable house exceeded expectations. Plenty of bath towels and beach towels are provided as well as hand soap, dish soap, and shampoo/conditioner. And I also loved the built in nightlight that was in the bunkbed room. Truly a wonderful beach weekend in a very clean and nicely updated home.

Summary: The Gray Pelican was the perfect VRBO for our family during our recent visit to Hampton, VA. Logistically, everything was clear and smooth. Then upon arriving, my family immediately fell in love with this beautiful home. The owners, Amy and Chris, take it seriously that they want their guests to have the best experience possible. First of all, they are wonderful individuals who communicate with kindness (they are also very quick to respond). They have been extremely thoughtful about the amenities of the Gray Pelican, and we felt right at home with everything we could possibly need, including many complimentary goodies. The house is incredibly clean and tastefully decorated. It is also in an excellent location, including being literally 1.5 blocks away from Buckroe Beach, which was also a treat! Thank you, Amy and Chris, for going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and happiness. We would recommend The Gray Pelican in a heartbeat!

Summary: We wanted to stay near the beach while we were in town house hunting and this place was amazing!!!! The house is beautiful and the owners thought of every need a vacationer might have. There were just two of us but I couldn’t easily see sharing this property with another couple or bringing small children.

Summary: We loved it!!! We cannot say wnough about our stay at The Grey Pelican!!! It was inviting, comfortable, and cozy. A little slice of heaven. The hosts were friendly and we even had a welcome basket. Right near the beach and the street was quiet. Definitely is a great spot!
